Cookie Notice

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies Talksies uses, and how you can control them.

What cookies we use

Talksies uses a small number of cookies. We group them into two categories: strictly necessary cookies that make the Service work, and advertising cookies used to measure our marketing.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for core features and cannot be turned off through our site. When you start or join a room, we set one small first-party cookie for that room (named tk_ followed by the room id) that ties your browser to your seat for 60 days. Without it, the room could not tell you apart from the other person. A second optional cookie, ts_internal, exists only so our own devices can be excluded from usage statistics; it is never set for visitors. Neither cookie is used to track you across other websites.

Advertising cookies (Google Ads)

We use Google Ads conversion tracking to understand whether our advertising is working, for example whether someone who clicked an ad went on to start a room. When enabled, Google's tag may set cookies (such as cookies in the _gcl_ family) and share limited measurement data with Google. This helps us measure and improve our ads. It is not used to read the content of your conversation, which is never shared with advertising providers.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google's partner-sites policy.

How to control cookies

  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop rooms from working.
  • Opt out of ad personalization. You can manage Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of many advertising cookies at optout.aboutads.info.
